A Tale of Too Many Podcasts
My podcatching app, Downcast, is stuffed full of podcasts. I couldn't bear to delete any. Except my phone is running out of space. Apps demand updates.
But I do want to listen to them... eventually.
Just like that sad pile of unplayed video games, gathering dust. I'll get back to that. Eventually.
I've got podcasts on true crime, book reviews, self-publishing, writing podcasts, and book marketing podcasts. And not enough time at the gym or walking to listen to them all. (I only listen to them when I'm active.)
And then I sat down, trying to figure out what to listen to at today's gym visit. I'm never going to listen to them all. I'm going to have to curate. Brutally. So I sat down and began the cull. Chopping out the latest whiz-bang author promotional tool or software, deleting stuff about AI, and deleting entire swathes of things where the pitch didn't grab me.
Now I have more phone space and a leaner list of podcasts. And it feels good.
